In collaboration and with funding from DMHAS Women’s Services, SEPI-CT is facilitating the dissemination of New Parent Lockbox Kits for Labor and Delivery units. These free kits are intended to provide individuals who have given birth during their present hospital stay with resources on topics including harm reduction, overdose prevention, mental health, suicide prevention, parenting, intimate partner violence, and other related themes. Our hope is that this resource will reduce the stigma of behavioral and mental health, reduce maternal mortality, support and empower families to explore harm reduction and related resources and decrease the risks of accidental ingestions/exposures.

SEPI has been in contact with the 22 birthing hospitals in Connecticut to disseminate these lockboxes and Naloxone. Since the start of the process we have distributed to 17 hospitals so far and are coordinating dates for the remaining hospitals
